Job Summary:  The Emergence Response Manager will lead on SCI Uganda Humanitarian strategy and help us re-imagine Humanitarian work in the 21st century. In this role you will provide leadership and strategic direction on the delivery of Country Office humanitarian responses, with a focus on the Cat 2 refugee response (South Sudanese and Congolese refugees). You will lead in the early warning, preparedness and planning for emergency response and support the implementation of humanitarian responses in SC Uganda. Your main focus will be to provide SCUG strategic response in close cooperation with the Programme Development and Quality (PDQ) team, followed by detailed planning and monitoring to ensure timely, adequate and well-funded activities in support of the affected population. The job role includes working closely with the PDQ and Advocacy teams to support donor engagement and advocacy around humanitarian emergencies in Uganda. You will coordinate and collaborate with the PDQ, Finance and Operations departments and field units to ensure Save the Children’s commitment to improving quality and accountability in humanitarian work is upheld, and complies with all relevant policies and procedures with respect to child safeguarding, safe programming, health and safety, and donor compliance. Ensure timely and accurate communications and media contributions and outputs to support the Appeal or member fundraising and submission of/quality reports and Sitreps as required by the internally classified emergency response category and RACIs.
