How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Specialist, the consultant will review and update the National EPI Communication Strategy

Background

In 2012, with UNICEF support, the Ministry of Health developed and finalized a National EPI Communication Strategy 2012 – 2016. One of the major pending activities under GAVI funding from 2016/2017 is the review and update of the EPI Comms Strategy to include new findings from the Harvard Opinion Research Poll (2016) and the Equity Assessment (2016).

In light of this there is a need to hire a C4D consultant to review and update the National EPI Communication Strategy.

Key tasks:

a) Develop and submit work plan/inception report
b) Conduct a desk review of strategic EPI documents, research documents and current EPI Communication Strategy and compile a report
c) Compile reference material for updating the EPI Comms strategy

d) Organize and conduct workshop to review EPI Comms strategy

e) Organize and conduct a consensus building workshop

f) Finalize the updated EPI Communication Strategy

g) Submit final National EPI Communication Strategy and final consultancy report

To qualify asan advocate for every child you will have…

Education:
University degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, Public Health or other related field. A Masters’ degree in Health Communication is an added advantage.
Work experience:
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Communication for Behavior and Social Change
· Proven expertise in developing Communication materials, strategies and plans for new vaccine introduction and SIAs
Competencies:
· Excellent facilitation skills, negotiation skills and oral and written communication skills;
· A repertoire of a wide range of facilitation approaches
· Strong analytical skills
· Knowledge of the Uganda context is an added advantage
